This classical Hatha yogasana class will step you back in time... to a practice where the only background noise is your breath, the mental repetition of ancient mantras, and the teacher’s soft guides. Since asana means ‘steady pose’, you will hold postures for longer periods of time and also practice pranayama (breathing techniques). This style of class is designed to focus the mind, calm energies and strengthen the physical body; rejuvenating all systems, especially the central nervous system.
This class includes relaxation, pranayama and a set series of basic postures. Variations offered for all experience levels. Come and explore the stillness and beauty of the ancient approach to asana.
This weekend Yoga intensive is a well-rounded, yet informative exploration of the basic principles of Yoga philosophy. Lila Lolling, a devoted and veteran Sivananda Yoga teacher, creatively weaves ancient Eastern wisdoms into our modern culture and lifestyle. Together we will explore Yoga’s history, purpose and goal as well as learn a few valuable tools which help to root you in the path of balance, harmony and peace.
The “Yoga Philosophy 101” intensive is perfectly suited for yogins who desire to more deeply understand the bigger picture of Yoga and learn simple teachings that can be immediately applied to life off the mat.
